International students enter one of five main Universities in Sydney, with Western Sydney University being the highlight of this report. More than 35,000 global students choose to study in Sydney (Expat n.d.). Most of the students come from Asian countries while the smaller percentages of students come from European countries. Compelling reasons as to why students choose to further their education in Sydney are: quality of education, proximity to home country and opportunity of a better life. Of the 40,000+ students in Western Sydney University, approximately 6,000 are international students and come from one of 70+ different countries (Western Sydney University 2017).
